MY BBTALKIN DEVICE DOES NOT PAIR:

  • Take the intercom out of the case
  • Check all buttons and listen to the clicking sound making sure there are no buttons stuck. If a button is stuck. Please send it to us for inspection and repair if possible.
  • Try to reset your system bij holding + volume button (left above) and power up (middel front button). Try to pair again.

Make sure you have the latest firmware installed on all devices. (especially when you buy new one later)

I HEAR ANNOYING “PLOING” SOUND AND STATIC:

You are loosing connection. This means you are to far away from you student or your student is low to the water. Make sure you try to get as close as possible and turn your bbtalkin device in line of sight with the student.

If the sound are there even when you are close it could be that one of the headsets is broken or has water inside.

I HEAR THEM REALLY LOUD BUT OTHERS I HEAR NOT LOUD ENOUGH:

We installed auto gain volume in our system. Meaning the more sound there is. The louder your headset will be broadcasting. Sometimes it happens that devices are not on the sam level. Making some supper loud. Others very low. To solve this problem place all intercoms in the same room. Attach all of them to a good functioning headset. Turn then on one by one by make sure you do it like this: When turning on the intercom and the intercoms starts booting up. Keep talking in the headset. “1…2..3.. test test..”. Do this individually for all intercoms. What we are doing is resetting the “standard” voice volume on all sets.

If this does not help. Try to put all intercoms back to factory setting (erase all settings) and pair them again as usual.

MY BBTALKIN INTERCOM IS NOT TURNING ON:

  • Check if buttons are stuck By pushing them. Listen to the ‘clicking’ sound
  • Check if the device is not corroded (water damage)
  • Check if battery is fully loaded
  • Connect to USB port and check if system still works (could be battery prolem)

If you cannot find the problem. Please send it to your dealer.

HOW TO CHECK BBTALKIN INTERCOM AUDIO AND SOUND

This is for testing the female connections and overal performance of the intercoms. Make sure you use a good functioning headset when testing. You can use any headset with microphone as long as its standard 3.5mm audio jack.

  1. Pair both intercoms
  2. Connect them as usual
  3. Use two working headphone with microphone on both intercoms
  4. Test the sound. Both sides should be able to speak and hear.

If it works everything is fine. If not the intercom(s) needs to be repaired or replaced.

I DON’T HEAR ONE OF MY STUDENTS OR THEY DON’T HEAR ME:

It could mean that one of your speakers or microphones is not working. It also could mean your intercom is broken, but very uncommon in this particular situation. Go to topic HOW TO CHECK THE INTERCOM AUDIO AND SOUND above. To test the intercoms. If you are sure they work. Please read on.

Speaker testing with two working intercoms: Pair two intercoms that you are sure of work without errors. On number 1 you connect a working headset. You can use any headset with audio jack that has mic integrated (like phone cord). On intercom number (2) you add the headset you want to test. Talk thru intercom 1 and listen for sound in intercom 2 if it works. If the sound does not come thru your speaker could be broken. Replacing the speaker with the SD-Speaker could do the trick. If this does not work. The problem could be in the cable and beyond repair.

Microphone testing with 2 working intercoms: Pair two intercoms that you are sure of work without errors. On number 1 you connect a working headset. You can use any headset with audio jack that has mic integrated (like phone cord). On intercom number 2 you add the headset you want to test. Talk thru number 2 set with the microphone that needs to be tested. And listen on intercom 1 if sound comes thru. If the sound does not come thru your microphone could be broken. Replacing the speaker with the SD-MIC could do the trick. If this does not work. The problem could be in the cable and beyond repair.

Testing headsets with phone (audio 3.5mm needed)

Speaker testing with phone:  Connect the headset to a phone or other audio device with 3,5mm jack to test the speakers. If the sound does not come thru your speaker could be broken. Replacing the speaker with the SD-Speaker could do the trick. If this does not work. The problem could be in the cable and beyond repair.

Microphone test with phone: Connect the headset to a phone using the 3,5mm audio jack. Call someone to test if they can hear you. If not. The microphone is broken and needs to be replaced.
